What is the Purpose of this Web site? Being the product authority in home improvement is the core of The Home Depot. Our Merchants periodically review new product submissions from suppliers who currently do not sell to The Home Depot. We seek new and innovative products within our core home improvement lines of business from suppliers with capability to support our 1900+ store base in the US.
What Is the Process? Please visit a The Home Depot store to gain an understanding of our current products and to determine which category your product belongs. Suppliers can then go to The Home Depot Supplier Submission Website to register. http://otb.thdsourcing.com/. After the terms are accepted by clicking "I Agree", suppliers must then complete the appropriate information regarding their company and products. Please note that no more than 5 products can be entered per visit to the site. If a Merchant is interested in your product you will be contacted. If the Merchant is not interested, you will not receive formal communication.
Will All Suppliers Who Submit Products Be Selected to Meet with a Merchant? Unfortunately not all suppliers who submit products will be contacted by a Merchant. However all product submissions are reviewed. If the Merchant is not interested, you will not receive formal communication.
Are Suppliers to Send The Home Depot Samples Prior to hearing from a The Home Depot Merchant? No. If a Merchant is interested they will contact you and they may request that you send a sample to them for review.
How Will Selected Suppliers Be Notified? The contact person indicated by the supplier will be notified via email or phone if the Merchant is interested in your products. Because of this it is imperative that the a valid email address and phone number are provided.
Is a Mutual Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) Required to meet with a Merchant? Yes. This is to protect both parties intellectual property during any discussions a mutual NDA is a requirement to attend. Invited suppliers will be provided with a copy of The Home Depots mutual NDA in the invitation packet. The mutual NDA must be signed by the supplier and The Home Depot before any discussions can take place.
Is it a Requirement to Agree to the Terms Stated on the Website? Yes. Data can not be submitted without agreeing to the terms by clicking on "I Agree".
Will Suppliers that Are Not Selected be Notified? Because the Merchants are continously reviewing products only suppliers in which they have interest will be notified. If the Merchant is not interested, you will not receive formal communication.
Am I Getting a Message Stating That "Production Capacity Contains Invalid Characters". What Does That Mean? Only enter numbers in this field. No commas, periods, letters, or any characters other than numbers will be accepted.
Is There a Web Browser Requirement? Yes. You must use Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher in order to successfully use the Open to Buy application.
How Do I Compress My Product Photo to Meet the Size Requirements of 200kb? Open the product photo using Microsoft Photo Editor. Click "Save As". When the "Save As" window appears click "More". Adjust the "JPEG quality factor" to a smaller number. Save the file using a new name so you won't replace your original file. Check the file properties, and if the file is less 200kb it can be attached. If the file is still greater than 200kb repeat the previous steps until it meets the requirements.
When I click "create/update" I receive an error that states "Page Can Not be Displayed". What can I do to fix this problem? Please submit your product(s) using this link. http://otb.thdsourcing.com/. Some computers have settings that might not be compatible with the "https" website.
